Good luck on your own journeys and please shoot me a DM if you are in need of support. It isn't the future but it is a future.. I doubt it will completely replace non-VR games, but neither did 3-d games completely replace 2-d games. Most likely it will be an increasing part of the market, but people will still want "traditional" video games. That video-uploading functionality, which Huffman says Reddit plans to do with its new investment capital, feels somewhat un-Reddit-like. Not all “pivots to video” are successful, and it remains to be seen whether a site that has had a virtual cloaking apparatus for its users in the form of strong anonymity controls will now embrace video uploading. That's awful given the skill level involved in development in general, let alone game development. Multi-year development cycles are pretty common in the video game industry — games are hard to make, after all, and creating a truly great game takes a lot of time — but fans have been looking forward to the following titles for quite a while. We don't know what the internet of the future will look like, but I guess at some point it will be good enough to stream games. Problem is, you be even less of an owner of your games than you are now. I think the tech is cool, and I utilise it in my house already with an always on desktop streaming to a rPi with steamlink under our TV. When games can accurately portray fire, water, smoke and hair, I will be satisfied. Until then, there is lots of progress to be made. Even in that video, the flowing water and waterfall effects are a long way from looking lifelike. There's a reason why these games are limited. Because they're not good enough to warrant a general release. You couldn't be more wrong lol. It's generally because they weren't ever planning on doing a physical release, whether because it's too expensive for them, or whatever other reason, but with companies like Limited Run Games, it's a lot more feasible. I realized a long time ago that the majority of AAA titles are not for me. Thankfully there's plenty of smaller and indie developers that make games that I still find interesting, in fact there are more games in this category than I could ever have time to play.
